• FreePBX is essentially free to use without additional licensing fees. With PBXcomplete, you only pay for the hosting of the FreePBX environment, which also includes some support. Sangoma, FreePBX’s administrator, has created commercial modules that can be activated for a fee. Examples include CRM integration and an Endpoint Manager for easier IP phone management.
• FreePBX is an open-source web GUI built on top of the Asterisk telephony software. This means no closed “black box,” complete transparency, and you can customize what you need.
• You don’t need an IP phone to be reachable: FreePBX offers its own (for a fee) mobile and PC apps: Sangoma Talk. These allow you to easily make and transfer calls.
• Due to the open-source nature of FreePBX, it is also possible to use other apps, such as Zoiper and Bria.
• AI transcriptions enabled with the Scribe (paid) module. Receive transcripts of recorded conversations, summaries, and sentiment analysis.
